This is the badge of the Church Lads & Church Girls Brigade The Brigade leaders are Dave & Joan Greaves The Brigade meets between 6.30 and 8.30 on Tuesday evenings in school term times in the Community Hall adjacent to the Church. All are welcome.

The Brigade Prayer Heavenly Father, Bless and guide with your Spirit the work of The Church Lads' and Church Girls' Brigade,Help us never to be ashamed to confess the faith of Christ crucified, To fight valiantly under His banner against sin, the world and the devil, And to continue His faithful soldiers and servants to the end of our lives. Amen

Brigade Camp to Skegness

Here are some pictures from the recent Sports and Fun Weekend at Skegness Butlins when, in the UNIHOC Competition the Seniors came fourth, the YGC attained a Bronze medal and the Junior Training Corps achieved the Gold.  Well done to all.

The Brigade Year 2004

The Brigade currently provides faith and fellowship for 15 young people whose ages range from 7 - 14. New Members are always welcome and activities include games, music, crafts, Duke of Edinburgh Award activuities for the 14+ and circle time when we listen to each other, share problems and pray together.

We have been involved in various activities thorughout the year:-

• Family Servcies at St Mary's
• a Churches together Youth Service where members performed a short sketch about the conversion of St Paul
• the Annual visit to Butlins at Skegnesson the 13th February. The weekend involved Brigades from all over the Country converging on Skegness for a weekend of sports, fund and games. The Brigade Unihoc Team competed again and Brigade members were also sporting their new St Mary's T-ShirtsA 24 hour Youth event at Sheffield Cathedral for the "elder" Brigade members which involved many differing activities, bands, Sumo Wrestling, Velcro Wall as well as praise and worship
• a weekend trip on a narrow boat for senior members as part of the Team building exercise for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
• involvement in the Blue peter Bring and Buy Sale which raised £93 for Mencap
• a visit to The Wetlands centre on the 19th June where they met up with Brigade members from Doncaster and Darfield
• a barge trip (for the younger Members from Thorne to Doncaster (see pictures below)

You will see that we had a very busy year, so why not join us when we meet again on the 7th September after our summer break.

Congratulations to Andrew Buckle who, on Mothering Sunday, was admitted as a Leader of the Church lads and Church Girls Brigade.   Our best wishes on you this very difficult but rewarding appointment from all your friends at St Mary's & St George's.     A special thanks from your colleagues in the Brigade and from all Brigade members
