Brigade Christmas Cards
What Christmas already!!! I hear you all cry - yes, the Brigade are selling hand made cards (made by themselves - and they are really good). These will be on display for purchase at the back of St Mary's over the next couple of weeks.

Hilary's Hike - In the footsteps of Moses - 4th - 11th November
Hilary (or more commonly known to us - Cherry) undertook her sponsored fund raising trek organised by Christian Aid on the 4th to 11th November 2006. The challenge began on the first morning with an early stary (2.00 am) to climb Mount Sinai to reach the summit (2265 m) before sunrise. Later that day she started a 45 mile trek through challenging mountainour terrain. The route passed over part of the two year journey taken by Moses and the Israelites over 3000 years ago.
During the trek, accommodation was in the desert and was in the shared Bedouin tents or sleeping under the stars. Cherry's report on the trek can be found in this months Crosstalk magazine available from church.

The Rotherham Schools Concert band are to present a Christmas Concert at St Mary's at 7.00 on Friday 8th December 2006. Tickets are priced at £3 and are available from Sonia Mellor (who is the band's Musical Director.
The concert will feature our own Caroline Ward as soloist and Cherry Mauchan will give a short talk on her recent trip to Mount Sinai - technology permitting!! there will be a short powerpoint presentation with pictures of her trek (see below)
