Inside St Mary's Church. View facing the West window. The Church now faces west following the re-ordering in the early 1990's
The Community Quilt is in the Sanctuary in the east end of church. This was used to be the "front" of church prior to the re-ordering. This part of the church is now used as a "quiet" chapel, for small servcies and particularly on Thursday mornings

The only remaining"visible" evidence of the former church on this site, the old Capitol. St Mary's, the current church dates from about 1897
The Old font is in the baptistry which is now the front of the church.

The new font is perhaps more versatile than the old one. It is, of course, portable and can be moved to wherever it is needed. Baptisms generally take place within the main service on Sundays. The lid of the font (which is not on this picture) has a metal designed "handle"in the form of a dove flying downwards and represents the Holy Spirit
